5 Best Beach Reads

5 Best Beach Reads

I was MIA last week taking a much needed beach trip with my family. It was long overdue, and I had almost forgotten how blissful it feels to read a book by the ocean. A corner has been turned in our family, as I am able to read a little bit now while my kids play in the surf (whilst keeping many an eye of course). With summer fast approaching, I figured now is as good a time as any to share my personal picks for the 5 best beach reads:

Where The Crawdads Sing, by Delia Owens

I couldn’t put this one down on my most recent trip. Reading it on the shore among the gulls set the scene and the tone for the story.

When Life Gives You Lululemons, Lauren Weisberger

I read this book (which takes place in Greenwich) on a beach in Greece right after my move to Greenwich and was thoroughly entertained. I could punch myself in the face for that sentence.

Bossypants, Tina Fey

If you’re looking for a hilarious read in between interruptions, I love Tina Fey’s collection of essays.

Where’d You Go, Bernadette

Equally witty and wanderlust-y, Where’d You Go Bernadette will make you laugh and cry and maybe a little bit of both at the same time.

The Sea, by John Banville

This is easily one of the best books I’ve ever read, and one of the only novels I’ve read more than once. The story is deep, haunting, and beautiful. It is best read – you guessed it – by The Sea.
