You know what I love about women? Well besides pretty much everything, we always have another act up our sleeves: the power to pivot. I had the distinct pleasure of attending my friend Penny Goffman’s one year anniversary brunch celebration of her third (or fourth of fifth) act, That Penny Connect.

I first met Penny at a birthday party of a dear friend. She walked up to me and said, “I follow you on Instagram. I want to be friends with you.” It was bold, outgoing, funny, and raw and that just about sums up her Goffman’s persona in a nutshell.

Leading up to the event, Penny pivoted the venue to her own backyard, a poetically apropos metaphor for the very feat celebrated that day. To quote Reesa Lake, VP Head of Creator Agency & Partnerships at LTK, we toasted Goffman ‘betting on herself’.

It was so inspiring and refreshing, and I could not have been happier to celebrate her success alongside fabulous fellow female founders and creators. It should come as no surprise that much of her job is connecting with women, and foretelling of our first encounter, her goal is to do it person.
