The Best Facial Ever

The Best Facial Ever

I usually don’t make New Year’s resolutions, but I decided in January that this would be the year that I would take better care of my skin and get regular facials. I have always left facials red faced, blotchy and inflamed, and feeling pressured by product pushing. Last week, I had the best facial of my life with Nicole at Elite Esthetics.

Elite Esthetics by Nicole Caroline recently opened on Greenwich Avenue and it has already become a speakeasy of sorts for innovative skincare. This is where those in the know get that seemingly unattainable glow without plastic surgery.

“You know that saying, ‘a year from now you’ll wish you started today,’ that’s basically everything I could ever want to tell you about skincare summed up into one sentence,” says Nicole. She believes in changing the skin gently, using the latest and most cutting edge technologies, ingredients, and methods. Her current favorite is Micro-current. “It truly lifts the skin and softens facial features. I have had clients considering plastic surgery and/or filler come to me for a few treatments and be so completely blown away by the results, they no longer wanted the cosmetic procedure.” It can be added to any treatment, or done as a stand alone 25 minute service.

I love the “What Do I Need Facial.” Nicole truly took the time to listen to my skin concerns, history, and analyzed my skin before creating a custom treatment for me. For the first time in my life, I left looking and feeling better than when I walked in and I went without makeup for 24 hours (see my before and after #nofilter). I also loved that instead of trying to sell me products at the end, she gave me insider tips on what to use and why, AND how to save money on the best ingredients! She told me to pick up some lactic acid to use 3x per week under my regular moisturizer and ever since my skin has been smoother and more evenly toned.

“It is gentler than it’s sister chemical exfoliants,” says Nicole, “and it keeps pores clear and is great at refining those little suckers.” She recommended The Ordinary, which has a simple formula that retails for $13 on Amazon. This is the star ingredient of Good Genes by Sunday Riley and she promises it works even better than this popular $158 serum. I’m a believer.

I am going back this week for dermaplaning. Stay tuned!
