I know it is a controversial one, but I will tell you what is the best thing about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. It’s one of the better sales to shop for name brand essentials, and fall / winter wardrobe staples before the season starts. Once it does, those items will be full priced and you will wish you already had them. It’s also a good time to stock up on rarely discounted beauty items and higher end intimates that are in need of replacing.

Here are my picks for the best of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale:

 

This Free People sweater is one of my go-to’s in colder months because it is so warm and comfy and looks amazing over anything from jeans to fancy pants to slip dresses. I have it in black and camel and I’m eyeing the blue. It’s the perfect mix of softness and slouch, but the neckline is what really makes it special. It’s pretty perfect.

Another important Fall / Winter wardrobe staple, the Spanx Faux Leather leggings are included. I’ve worn mine for years even while pregnant (although I did have to replace them after that).

Every year there is a steal on a an upscale leather motorcycle jacket, and this is it, hands down. This is the best vegan / budget friendly one. I got a suede Topshop one (pictured) a few years back during this sale and I still wear it to on heavy rotation every fall.

My favorite best budget friendly aviators are included as well as my go-to Jezabell pair. If you’re down for a splurge, these are my favorite designer pick of the sale (in my cart right now).

Rails makes the softest plaid fleece shirts and I love this color and this one.
