I am thrilled to be participating in the ShopStyle Collective Bloggers Give Back with Dress for Success campaign! I’m sharing my power outfit, what I wear for confidence, and who inspires me with all of you, and contributing 10% of sales through tomorrow to Dress for Success. Best of all, ShopStyle will be matching 100% of my contribution, so you’re shopping for a fantastic cause that helps to empower women to better their lives.

My power outfit is always blue. Before my first television appearance as a shopping expert, my colleague turned to me and said, “you should wear blue, it’s what I always picture you wearing and it suits you.” I was really nervous about being live on camera my first time, especially when I got there and discovered it would be a round table panel discussion rather than an interview. It went so well, that I’ve worn the color for good luck on big days ever since. When I want to feel my most confident, I wear something a little bohemian like this Free People dress, big shades, and boots.

I’ve always been inspired by my mother, Mindy Kaling, Joan Rivers and Diane von Furstenberg. They are all strong, hilarious, self-made women who always stayed true to themselves.

How do you dress for success?
