Formal dining is not only out in real estate – comfy chic is the trending dress code this Thanksgiving season. If you’re attending a laid back affair, get some outfit inspo with these three comfy chic Thanksgiving get-ups all comprised of items you probably already own:
1. Pajama Party
Pajama dressing, which appeared to be one of the most daring fads of last year is still in, and hotter than ever. Did I mention this means we can wear pajamas in public? The key to pulling off the head to toe trend is sticking with dressier materials like silk in dark neutral colors, like black, navy, and gray like the pictured Equipment Avery Silk Pajama Set. Prefer a pop of color? This J. Crew Silk Pajama Shirt is the best blue hue and goes with any black bottoms (‘cept for sweatpants). Pair your PJ’s with classic pumps and a substantial statement necklace for a polished “I’m-not-really-going-to-bed” ensemble.
2. Smokin’ Sweats
Sweatshirts, boyfriend jeans, and smoking slippers are a few more comfy chic on-trend wardrobe staples we can be thankful for this year, and these three just so happen to look effortlessly cool together. The new embellished sweatshirts and smoking slippers are already decorated, so keep accessories minimum (think dainty bracelets or classic stud earrings).
3. Never Enough Nineties
Flannel all on mah arms. Flannel all on mah neck. Yes, flannel is back in a big way, so why not wear it everywhere and experiment with a little print mixing? Wear your flannel (oversized is best) buttoned up or open as a jacket with a simple silk cami and leather or faux leather paneled pants. Top it off with a classic cashmere number or a throwback grunge print (this kind of print mixing works best pairing similar scarf colors in large check atop small checked shirts). Finish the look with short strapped ankle booties in any color but black to keep things interesting.
