Even though Labor Day has come and gone, summer does not officially end until September 23rd over here. When we are lucky, we get a little extended Indian Summer on the East Coast. This can be a tricky time for dressing, as things cool off one hour and become hot and even humid in the next. Light layers become my friends, and I have a few key pieces that I wear weekly.
Here are my 5 Indian Summer staples that I will be on repeat until real Fall begins:
This kimono is the perfect throw-it-on-over-anything transitional piece that is a total statement but also super practical for in-between days. I have it in both the seafoam and ocean colors, and I am considering another one in a neutral hue. I seriously can’t even choose because they are all so beautiful.
The Isabel Marant Dicker bootie is an investment, but it’s one that has seen me through several years. I love them with almost any summer dress on cooler days.
This lightweight denim jacket is just so soft and perfect in every way. I sized down from a medium to a small and it’s still perfectly oversized.
A stylish pair of sneakers is the perfect replacement for your summer sandals. They can be worn with dresses, skirt, shorts, jeans, everything. I love my sequined Golden Goose, but you can’t go wrong with this classic white pair.
I don’t wear jeans in the summer, but I’ve been excited to get them back into the rotation since I recently found two great pairs. I’m loving these Levi’s and this Madewell pair, which is currently on sale.
Happy layering!
