The Fourth Of July has become extra special to me over the last few years because my first son, Bear, was born on July 4, 2015. My best friend from college shares the same birthday, and when I was given my due date of 7/5, I told her that if the baby was a girl born on 7/4 I would name her after my dear friend, Lily. Sure enough, baby came on the 4th, but it was a boy. We wanted to give him the initials BHW after daddy and Gramps. We named him Bear because we love the name, and it has a few special meanings. Bryan and I met outside of a bar called Black Bear, my husband is from Chicago and is a Bear’s fan, and we actually discovered after he was born that Bear was a family name generations back. Wulf, whose family became the Wulfsohns, was his brother. Anyway, it’s a perfect birthday not just because it’s a nationwide party complete with fireworks, but because there are also amazing deals (mama like).
