Did you know that the best time of year to buy outdoor furniture is after Labor Day aka RIGHT NOW!? I’m so excited to share the first little spot in my new home that is close to complete: my side deck! I say close to complete because I am debating whether or not to get an outdoor rug. I’ve had two polar opposite experiences with outdoor rugs, the first being negative because it was hard to clean. I’m going to give myself some more time and would love to hear your feedback! I’m kind of feeling this one. Anyway, I was working with a pretty tight budget for this space, since our kitchen was a splurge and a half (barf, more on that later). I was going for a bohemian navy and white coastal feel and I love how it turned out. It’s our smaller outdoor area on the ground level, but it’s right off the family room and next to the grill (where most of our food is made since we still have no kitchen) so it was in need of some furnishing. I was stoked to score this table for under $400 when I received a back in stock notification because it looked exactly like the big budget trestle tables I’d been eyeing. Never underestimate this tool! I bought the bench along with it, and the chairs (with a coupon so they were under $80 a piece and are even better than the pricey version I had my eye on) and umbrella from (Joss & Main) separately, all online. I was floored by the quality, and so happy that it all works well together. Every person who comes over says “Oh I love that set” and is surprised when I tell them it isn’t one. I know, I know. I need to re-paint the deck. Next year…
