Before you begin to chip away at your resolution to clean out your closet, take a look at this runway report guide to the top 2014 fashion trends for spring. It could help you make decisions on what to keep and what to toss.
1. Metallics
In addition to the gold and silver standbys, jewel colored foiled fabrics were a standout on the runways.

4. Tea Length Skirts
If the maxi and the midi had a lovechild, it would be the tea length skirt. The best news: if you were too tall for that maxi or too short for that midi you got at a sample sale last year, there is no need to update the hem to be on trend this year.

5. Nautical
This resort collection mainstay bleeds over into the spring and summer collections and is easily recreated with mariniere stripes, knits, and patriotic color palette pieces.

6. 90′s Throwback
Destroyed denim, grunge plaid and logo play are here to stay, but the 90′s spring revival will be more about proportions than patterns. Think voluminous sleeves, oversized biker jackets, vests, and overalls for the daring.

10. Wide Leg Pants
Like it or not, crop tops are here to stay. The new way to wear them is with the new wide leg pants which lends the perfect proportional balance. On the flipside, slinky silk versions were shown over tunics at Chanel Cruise and Trina Turk for impeccable relaxed looks.
