Cloak: c/o Haute Hippie. Dress: Forever 21 (old, similar here, here, also love this one). Sandals: Isa Tapia. Clutch: Vintage Christian Dior. Sunglasses: Free People. Nails: Blossom Dandy (hands), Petal Pushers (feet). Lip: Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Luminous Matte Lip Colour in L’exubrante.
ThisĀ Haute Hippie sheer floral print cloak is without a doubt one of the most exquisite and unique pieces of clothing I’ve ever worn. It is hands down the fanciest layer I’ve worn while out and about on the streets of Manhattan and Brooklyn, and while hitting up a Rebecca Minkoff sample sale. I love that it can be worn over a simple basic staple like this Forever21 maxi I’ve had for years and it just elevates the entire look to red carpet status, without looking out of place on a spring day or evening. I chose it to wear to a photoshoot with WellroundedNY this past Friday at Bump Brooklyn (amazing maternity selection). Since becoming pregnant, I’ve come to regard WellroundedNY as an indispensable community and resource, particularly because it speaks specifically to a New York centric sensibility in a way that no other site of its kind does. Meeting founders Kaity and Jessica was like catching up with old friends who have been there for me throughout this long and exciting process, and I am so honored to have been chosen for a Bumpenvy feature. I will be sharing the story in it’s entirety after publication, but thought I’d share a little preview of what I wore with you guys.
What’s the fanciest thing you’ve ever worn to a sample sale?
