Gender Neutral Safari Nursery

Some of you told me you were excited to see my daughter’s nursery, and I realized that I never shared Luke’s! The truth is, I’m not sure I’m going to change the nursery much if at all. In fact, it’s becoming a tradition of sorts in our family that when we have a new baby joining us, the older sibling gets an upgrade to a big sibling room. Instead of revamping the nursery, I am going to be giving up my fashion room (tear) to gift Luke with his new big brother room. While I won’t be doing a complete nursery overhaul, I might be making subtle changes (obviously the monogram and the L initial pillow will be going in Luke’s new room). Before that happens, let’s take a tour, shall we?

You may recognize that most of the furniture came from Bear’s nursery back in Manhattan, like the dresser, the glider, and the crib. This room was used as an office when we bought the house, and I love that it has crown molding. We kept the existing paint color: Benjamin Moore Silver Marlin. I love it because sometimes it reads grey, sometimes blue, other times green. It’s soothing and relaxing and just really beautiful.My favorite nursery furniture addition is this daybed. I was a little nervous about it because I bought it online without seeing it in person, but it’s the perfect fit for the little reading nook area. It’s super comfortable, and I should know because I’ve slept on it during a few sick baby nights.
