My friend and menswear contributor suggested we do a photo shoot at the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens, and I immediately knew two things: I would wear my Yumi Kim floral maxi sample sale score and I would see if Rio would try florals. The response? “I don’t have anything floral.” As luck would have it, I recently found my dream Dr. Marten boots at the new LNA in my hood and made Rio try them. We ended up mixing them with edgy menswear inspired pieces, much like the pairing of this fringed moto jacket with the dress. I can’t wait to share the resulting look! I don’t like to play favorites, especially with my shoes, but it would be tough to say that these Loeffler Randalls are not my #1 flat pair. Apparently Loeffler Randall feels the same way, because the style (which I purchased last year) was reproduced this season, with a second color added! You can get the new color without the wait list at Madewell. They are more comfortable than sneakers or fuzzy slippers.
Do you have any favorite polar opposite pairings? Do tell!
