So I was MIA last week because I fulfilled a long seeded dream to take a vacation during this time of year. For the past decade or so, this has been my most stressful season, so when my mom and in-laws and volunteered to take care of my boys so my husband and I could go away after Thanksgiving, we said KTHANKSLOVEYOUBYE. We had originally planned on taking the kids to a beach vacation this winter but their pediatrician advised against bringing Luke because anywhere we could have gone still has a Zika problem, and since I am taking a break from being pregnant after having two kids in less than two years I was given the green light. Until our parents suggested it, it hadn’t occurred to my husband and I to take a vacation without them. It was definitely a good idea. I must say, after you have children, taking a trip a deux is revitalizing on another level. It was hard to leave them, especially Luke, since I am still nursing and had to pump the entire trip (lawd). BUT I am a believer that just as it’s important to spend time with your kids, it’s important to spend time without them, too. It’s good for you, and it’s good for them. Stay tuned for a full travel diary.
