This cardigan is hands down my smartest score from the Derek Lam sample sale. I had a less dramatic cashmere version that I wore non stop for about nine years before it became swiss cheese. I almost didn’t take it home with me thinking maybe it would be boring, but I knew I needed to replaced my basic black cardi and although I wasn’t able to try it on as I was holding my son, I had a feeling I would regret leaving it behind. It’s so thick, warm, soft and slouchy: everything a staple sweater should be. Lately it’s still slip dresses and generously cut tunics like this All Laced Up Shift Dress with jackets or sweaters with over the knee boots on the when it’s warm enough to go bare legged. I’ll keep doing it until old man winter shuts it down.
