Dress: Forever 21. Kimono: Old, similar here and here. Sandals: Melissa + Jason Wu. Sunglasses: Wildfox. Rings: Shashi,ย Ultimate. Bag: Vintage Chanel. Nails: Essie Marshmallow. Lip: Mac Lipstick in Ruby Woo.

I had been on the hunt for a basic black knit tank dress for months when I spotted this one. At that point, I had ordered, purchased and tried on countless versions from pricey retailers only to leave empty handed and send countless rejects back to where they came from. Seriously, the best version is this under $13 joint from Forever 21. The length, the neckline, the cut, just perfect for every day layering or wearing alone. I bought it in two colors and I’ll be taking mine for a long weekend trip out of the city for Memorial Day Weekend to visit family. They are such perfect travel pieces because they are comfortable, don’t wrinkle, and they fulfill multiple wardrobe duties. I love a nautical themed look for the holiday, so I will be wearing this getup for my travel day to kick off the weekend. No other shoes say summer nostalgia to me more than jellies, and I love the grownup design of this Melissa + Jason Wu studded pair which work at the beach, pool, and beyond. Style and summer activities aside, I want to acknowledge all the troops and veterans who help protect our freedom and those who are no longer with us. Thank you!

Happy Memorial Day Weekend, loves!
