Boy!!!!! We found out a few weeks ago, the day before my birthday (when I wore this sequined sweater dress). I had three dreams that I was going to have a son: one shortly before becoming pregnant, and two after finding out the happy news. It’s been so much fun starting to shop for our baby boy’s wardrobe. I picked up a few things at the amazing Zara baby sale, including this quintessential little New Yorker man parka. Winter items are the most expensive of all baby clothes, so I am stocking up on some now in a size bigger than he will be next year while they’re on sale and saving them. The next big baby project will be converting the office / guest room to a nursery, and I will of course share the before and after with you. I had originally wanted to keep the gender a secret for these reasons and just for fun, but my husband was not having it. Since he lets me have my way on so many things, I let him have this one. I am glad I did, because knowing the gender has made the impending arrival of our spawn feel so much more real. As for my wardrobe, I am still trying not to add too many things I won’t wear post pregnancy, and I couldn’t resist these $45 Forever 21 boots. I’d been coveting these charcoal grey Stuart Weitzman Highland boots but couldn’t justify the $800 price tag, especially when suede boots don’t live long in giant dirt slushie New York City winters. I missed out on my size at first, but they’ve been restocking them sporadically so keep checking back to score a pair like I did. They are so comfortable and they look expensive. Forever 21 is killing the looks for less in the boot department this year.

What do you guys think about the Forever 21 Highland Boot copycats?
